The Best Plans Start With Understanding the Life Behind Them
We help individuals and families in Greater Grand Rapids and Ottawa County plan with confidence for the years ahead, and we’re here for every chapter that follows.
Kristin Reck

Kristin founded The Longevity Project after a career spent alongside older adults and their families at every stage of care. From clinical nursing in primary care, cardiology, and geriatrics to senior living administration, home care, hospice, and eldercare advising, she has seen firsthand how needs change over time, and how much easier those changes become with a thoughtful plan and the right support in place.
She brings that experience to every family she works with, taking the time to understand what matters most to you, helping you see what may lie ahead, and staying by your side as decisions come up, so your plan reflects your goals, your priorities, and the life you want to live.
Having supported loved ones from a distance herself, Kristin knows how much it means to have someone you trust close by, especially as needs evolve and important choices arise.
When she isn’t working with clients, you’ll find her exploring the outdoors with her husband and children, tending her garden and chickens, or traveling to visit family. She also treasures time with older adults in our community and is actively involved in volunteer and community initiatives across West Michigan.
“Growing older is something to embrace. It’s a beautiful season of life, to be lived well with dignity, purpose, and grace.
For twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside older adults and their families. Through that experience, I’ve seen the difference it makes to have someone who can see the bigger picture, coordinate the details, and help families work through important decisions.
That is the heart behind The Longevity Project: walking alongside families so they can spend less time managing the details and more time enjoying life together.”

Built From Years of Seeing the Same Gap
Again and again, people were doing many of the “right” things. They had financial advisors, attorneys, healthcare providers, family members, and trusted professionals helping with different parts of their lives.
But life doesn’t happen in separate categories. A change in health can affect the home. A retirement decision can reshape daily life, finances, relationships, and purpose. Helping a parent can suddenly involve healthcare, housing, legal questions, and family decisions all at once.
What was often missing was someone who could see the whole picture.
Someone asking how one decision might affect another. Someone noticing what hadn’t been considered yet. Someone turning recommendations into real next steps, and staying involved as circumstances changed.
That’s the role The Longevity Project was created to fill.

What We Believe
A good plan isn’t something you finish. It grows with you. Here’s what shapes every one we build.
A good plan is personal.
It reflects your values, your relationships, and the life you want to live. No two plans look alike.
A good plan starts early.
Important conversations are easier before anything is urgent. Starting now keeps your choices open.
A good plan is clear.
You and the people you trust should understand it and know exactly what to do next.
A good plan leads to action.
Information alone isn’t enough. Every plan ends with clear priorities and manageable next steps.
A good plan grows with you.
Life keeps changing, and your plan should change with it. We revisit it as your needs evolve.
A good plan is never carried alone.
The right people around you make big decisions feel manageable, for you and for your family.

Why We Call It The Longevity Project
The name began simply, as a way of describing an idea taking shape: the longevity project. A long life isn’t a single decision or a plan made once. It’s a work in progress, shaped by what matters to you along the way.
The name became the business because the idea behind it never changed.
The Longevity Collaborative
